ya know what, all i did was remove my dipstick, gave me more room for the wrench to reach from under the car, and the rope trick worked just fine, I dont see a need for "splicing" the nut

In order to remove my lower left nut i did the following....

step 1 : look at the nut
step 2: put my socket on the nut
step 3: loosie lefty righty tighty!!

END.

I dont know what all the fuss is about...

First off, the thread is three years old. Secondly, you have an Evo, this is on a Lancer.

Indeed it is on a Lancer good point. But i am very aware it is 3 years old just like 75% of the useful information on here. thanks anyway
