Painting Engine Cover

Hello Everyone.

I wanted to know how to paint your engine cover. I wanted to paint mine like many members have done on here. Just like Showtime did. Can someone tell me what kind of spray paint they used and the process it took to get there. I know how to take it off and mask it, but I need for info on the paint, Can I just use Kyrlon of do I have to use a High Temp Paint??? I am also going to paint the spark plug cover Red. Thanks for your help.

I just painted my covers yesterday and they came out great. I used Dupli-Color High Heat Red (DH 1608), even though it might not be nessasary to use high heat paint. I didn't even give it a sanding, just washed it with some water & soap, then wiped it down with isopropyl alcohol after the washing. I gave mine 3 light coats and 1 heavier coat, then let them sit overnight.

Cool, Since Showtime did not answer me, where has he been anyway?? I just went to HomeDepot today and Picked up a Can of Rust Oulem for Plastic, painted 3 coats, then I let it set in my room for 4 hours. I just took the car for a spin and it stood up, but I took it back off to, set up more overnight, lets just say I heat tested it... lol heres a pic let me know what you think..

I just masked it off with Blue Painters type, then I used my Hobby Knife to cut it out perfect.

i have some pics on the show and shine if u wanna check out mine. but i used krylon fusion, it basically blends it self together with the plastic n it can stand up to some really high heat, seein its hit like 95 over here n its still sittin perfect.
