Question Trunk Carpet Problems

Hey Guys,

I Recently got a sub box for my lancer , When I went to put the box in and drive around, I found that the sub box moved all around the trunk . I don’t want to Bolt my box down because I want to be able to get to the spare tire if I have to. So what I tired was some Velcro but the Velcro, would not work because the Carpet in the trunk had a fuzzy padding that the adhesive would not stick to. The Velcro just pulled off it did not stick at all. Anyone have any solutions for this problem, with the carpet moving around. I have also noticed this problem If I get some groceries it moves around also. Any help would be appreciated

People just use one side of the Velcro, but if that don't work try little rubber feet that is used underneath furniture or electronic equipment.

You could stitch and sew the velcro to your trunk carpet. That should work if you use enough velcro.

Stick the adhesive of the velcro to itself and use the same two sides of velcro for carpet to sub carpet....However I have noticed that the truck carpet moves alot and Im thinking the box is going to be too heavy for velcro.

IMHO, don't waste your time with a sound system...its heavy and will only slow u down...i say strip the whole trunk and reduce weight, listen to ur ipod if you want music

oh yea, make sure you dynamat... i have $300 in mine and the trunk and sunroof still "BUMP" out like an inch and a half...it dont rattle much, it just shakes...a lot.... the dynamat will help the tail lights from blowing out and oh yea, screw the carpet on the partical board that covers the spair tire, makes it easier to get to the tire without having to unscrew the screws from the chassis every time..

08lancer89, i see u need a mono amp for your subs... i have an Alpine V12 MRD-M1005 mono amp that can power 750 watts at 4 ohms 1000 at 2 ohms or 1500 at 1 ohm i could sell you, it is the latest model alpine has with the LCD display and control unit that i used to have powering my L7's, i got the kicker ZX2500 instead because i needed more power to push 2 15"s if your intrested just let me know...

I mounted mine with 4 metal brackets because the carpet slides so easy. I drive too quick and turn quicker with grips. nothing else was strong enough . I took my spare tire and stuff out below because it would weigh too much with both. the speaker and box and amp i added weighed about the same as the spare tire.
