cam gear

i just got my cam gear today i'm just waiting on my 99 mirage cam, i was thinking what would happend if i left the cover off? the reason why im asking is because i dont want the gear to rub or grind on anything, also what will go best with my 1.8 sprint spring? dont just view guys throw me some mananswers lol

You already got the answer to your spring question in another thread and in PMs, asking it again and again won't make struts appear. As for the other, I would leave the cover on.

I, along with many Civic owners, leave off the upper plastic portion off. But, you can grab a good sized can and trace around the bottom and cut a perfect circular hole out so you/tuner can access it easily.
