Not sure if this is in the right thread or not...
Tried getting the evo X projector head lights from the dealer instead of doing an after market hid, and the parts guy told me that it wouldn't be an easy swap. He told me that the headlight fixture is a little different from the lancer because the front end is different. Also, the harness for the evo has an amplifier built into it to control the HID.
Also, no matter what electrical problem you have...take out all your mods that feed off of the electrical system. they told me that if you have ANY modification that draws a different rating than the specified, then the warranty can be voided.

I got too sick of waiting and had HID's installed in the factory lights. I love the look of projectors so much though. I am sure someone will come out with one pretty soon though. Come on RRM! You guys can do anything!

There's no such thing as projector headlights.
Projectors as a term only describes the type of housing. The bulb type itself is still gonna remain a 9006.

Evo X headlight assemblies won't work? is the assembly wider? or is the electrical wiring too different to retro fit on the Lancers?
I'm sure if someone wants them badly enough they could make Evo X headlights work with some custom fabrication....
***edit:
Eh, I just went back and read the rest of the thread. Some of those questions were answered. Either way, I'm sure the swap to Evo X projector housings can be done with some ingenuity and, of course, quite a bit of cash if you buy the assemblies new from a Mitsu service/parts dept.

ya i know that my old Z headlights were $800 a piece, my buddys RX8 headlights are $800 a piece so im pretty sure the new evo x headlights are going to be REALLY pricey lol.... might be most likely be cheaper to do a retrofit....

Yeah but they won't work the same way with the Lancers, since the ECU feeds the DRL voltage to the lowbeams. It'll require some software adjustment in the ECU.
