Question Two pictures need advice

Is this a cause for concern at all?

My friend got his lancer a couple months ago and he did not have this sticker thing there. and there is rust where my sticker is on his car. Is this really a sticker? It seems since the winter there are tiny tiny white dots on that piece of whatever it is. How do I remove it.

Thanks.

I had the same thing untill I covered it with the GTS side sills You can still see them a bit but if you go and look at a GTS it also has the same sticker. I find it weird now that you mention it that your friend does not have that sticker.

Probably just stones being thrown up by the tires and chipping the paint.

If & when you decide to remove the 3M sticker, make sure it's warm - either a warm day, or take a blow dryer to the sticker - then slowly peel from one direction to another. You may also decide to use some floss to smoothly take it off. May or may not want to/need to use Goo-Gone afterwards, if the car surface is a little sticky.

Most likely paint protection. Looks like the product 3M makes. It's just there to stop rock chips and such.

mine started to peel off in about november. I went to the dealer to get it replaced and apparantly it is still on back order. I can't believe a small piece of sticky plastic can be on back order for 5 months haha

Its 3m protector tape...it is only on the ES/DE. The GTS wont have it because of the side skirts.
