LOST and looking for help!!

I have an 03' Lancer w/a 2.0 and it has 227,000 miles on it. The problem I am having is a lack of power during acceleration. Here is what I have done to try and find the problem. The OBD is giving no codes. I have put in a new fuel pump, fuel injectors, fuel regulator, spark plugs, both oxygen sensors and spark plug coils. The engine starts and idles fine, but will not accelerate fast when trying to pick up speed at over 30 mph. I am beginning to think maybe the Mas Airflow Sensor or the Catalytic Converter may be the problem, but still no codes to tell me that. Thanks for any responses, I am LOST!!

lack of power on accelerating at your miles is almost always the catalytic converters blocking good airflow.

Thanks for your reply and that's exactly what the problem was. Both cats were plugged and we have those changed out now and the engine is running fine. But as I mentioned the car is smoking some during start up so I may have some valve stem seals or guides that may be leaking oil, so if that is the case how long would it take to ruin the new converters?

I'd say it would take a while. You sure it's not condensation?

No it is using oil, I need to top it off at least once a week depending on how much I drive it.

have you done a compression check on the cylinders? it is easy to do. check the oil and coolant and make sure those fluids don't look mixed. if you are losing oil and you don't have a leak in the rear main seal or oil plan or something then that is suspicious of course.

like Green asked, are you sure it is white clouds and not just condensation. have someone follow your vehicle and ask them to note any white clouds on acceleration or maybe an odor.

How do you figure head gasket? The car is not using water, the radiator stays full, but it is using oil!!

i dunno, oil goes through there too you know...and your mileage is quite high...but you have to replace it anyway if you replace your valve stem seals...there's not many other ways for oil to enter the cylinder without some kind of catastrophic failure...

I think you have 227,000 reasons why you have no power.

I feel for ya... My daily driver (A mercedes c230 kompressor) suffers the same problem, but only 175,000 of them...

Check your spark plugs. Are they oily?
