Stage 1 Clutch
So my mechanic has told me the clutch on my 03 OZ is going bad. I didn't know considering this is my once stick shift car. So we talked about replacing it and he was pricing parts and labor to be about 700 altogether(300 labor+400parts). Now that is for a replacement clutch. I was looking online for a stage 1 and i have seen a couple on ebay for right around 250 but still learning about cars and parts i don't know whats a good brand. Now my question is does anyone know a good reliable brand where i can get a stage 1 from that isn't going to cost me a crap load?

it really depends on what your are trying to accomplish. are you planning on boosting it or anything? if not, i wouldn't go too crazy and spend tons of money. I have an ACT stage 2 clutch and fidanza aluminum flywheel. seems to grab pretty nice and is holding up pretty good under 12psi

is it like a 2900 pressure plate? think a clutch like that will hold more torque that what you make at 12psi...but it is definately wise to have some headroom...
as for the OP, 02mod makes a good point, if you don't have high power goals short term, just get an OEM replacement...Exedy is OEM.

yeah, i plan on building up the motor eventually and upping the boost. figured i might as well get the stage 2 now lol. i have a small garage, like 1.5ft on each side, ripping a tranny out sux with no room and 12 beers later. haha. yeah, if you don't plan on getting a turbo, the NA route is going to put down enough torque to need anything better than an OEM. you probably wouldn't notice a difference, except for a stiffer clutch. yeah i would get an Exedy clutch kit, or even the Zoom clutch kit. the zoom clutch kit also comes with a throw out bearing. Zoom makes a decent clutch, atleast i can vouch for their clutch in a mustang, never tried one in an import.
