Benen Ind. Tow hook installation?
Hey guys i am new to the forum and have just been browsing for the past week, sooo much info to absorb! IMHO this is the best lancer forum .
Ok so heres my problem....about a week ago i bought a Benen tow hook from the PASMAG auto show in Toronto, well exited to install i ran home and looked underneath the rear and noticed only 1 tow hook at the drivers side (parallel to the bumper), but nothing else? so i was wondering if i have to make a custom mount somehow? Thankyou!

Prolly because nobody has ever bought that item for a lancer before you and has no idea. our car does not need an additional tow hook, its not a race car that you cant get a normal tow truck to tow it normally.

im sure people have done it but all i am looking for is simply the aesthetics of the hook not the actual functionallity... i know hondas have the little hook in the rear so tow hooks fit there but lancer dosent...??

If you lay down behind your car I'm sure you will see one ring like thing hanging from the chassis. That is your tow hook that a truck would use for pulling your car up onto a flatbed. If you have a CVT the car cannot be towed like a normal car. Can ONLY be towed by lifting the front. You will see a lot of tow trucks pick a car up from the back end. This will destroy our transmission with the CVT cars.
Try in google, how to install a tow hook. I'm sure you have to drill holes in the frame for it to mount properly, and cut a hole in your bumper so that the tip can be accessed. Good luck, enjoy destroying something for an item that is pointless. Most people dont install things like that. It's not gonna get you extra points in a show.
