Tint window

I'm planning on tinting my 2012 WW Lancer ES but I have ZERO idea on tinting.
Can someone explain to me the different type of tints and generally how much it cost? Whats good? Any suggestions?

Also I'm in Los Angeles.

Should cost less than $200.

Metallic-based tints like solargard[tm] are superior.

Standard tint will go 'purple' after a few years. Ask these questions - they should have good answers. Ask about the tint and installer warranties.

Ask to see some examples of their installs. No bubbles, no foreign objects, and everything re-assembled correctly (they take off your door panels). Listen for new rattles in the doors as you drive away...

Ask when you can roll the windows down and how to clean them

Damn, makes me not want to get it tint now... I hate mechanics, I feel that every shop out there employs some new idiot and they dont really know what they are doing... or there skill level isn't great.
Also I already notice streaks or dust marks on my window right now without any tint... will it scratch the tint if I have it installed? Also I hear people complaining about cuts on windows from razors? Is this what happens when you re-tint your window? Does it damage the defroster line?
I have a oem spoiler and I havent install it yet because of the very same reason as I don't really trust any body shops... and mitsu dealership wants over $200.00 just to install it and they said I have to leave the car for 4 hours... wtf??

So I just got off the phone with this auto shop in glendale and he quoted me 125 dollars just for installing the spoiler but he said I would need to add shock absorbers on the trunk and that they cost 50 something dollars each. He said that the spoiler makes the trunk heavier so the absorbers are needed... Anyone agree or opinions?

No, get the tint - there are very reliable shops out there. Just make sure you are dealing with one

Yes, the heavier trunk (you didn't say how much it weighs including mounting hardware) should require improved struts. But! I am a SB, so...

Sportback (with hatch and lift struts).

You can do the spoiler first and later add lift struts if you need them.

I decided to do the spoiler myself. I didn't want to pay $200+ dollars after seeing this:
