Speaker reccommendations for 5.1
Greetings
I am looking to get the new Sony MEX DV2000 SACD deck for my 04. ( I have only bought hi rez recordings for the last 4 years)
I am new to car auto though and would really appreciate any suggestions - I am not excited about a sub, just good quality sound. For strictly audio at home I would say my old kef 104.2 were the best. (English sound)
Thanks for any suggestions or pointers.

For just SQ (my preference, as well) I recommend 2 10" subs in a sealed box. 10's are able to effectly put out low frequencies without being overpowering or defening, and a sealed box will keep the sound clean and crisp across a large range of frequencies. As for a 5.1 setup, I have no idea where you'd put the center channel speaker. Either up in the ceiling by the rear view mirror (if you don't have a sunroof) or somehow find a way to mount a small 4x6 speaker down where the cubby hole is.

Thanks for your reply Otter.
I am not worried about the center chanel as the deck will provide a simulated center if I want it. As this will just be for music, it should be great within the constraints of an automobile enviorment.
Sorry I wasn't clearer but I am really trying to get the best 6.5 speakers within a reasonable price range. Something with a tight base.
I see you still have your Yakima racks - these are great as I carry two Kayaks for my wife and I around all season. Never thought about it before but I will post a picture when I have time. Yellow billboard.

Define "reasonable price."
MB Quart is supposed to be fantastic, though I've never actually heard it. I personally have a strong liking for Polk. Definitely don't skimp on your amp, either, though you'll have to do homework on that since my knowledge is somewhat out of date.
