companies make the damn black housing headlights for our car, how hard would it be for them to insert some halos and projectors into the black housing lights? It can't cost that much more for them to do that. This project seems to be going pretty well except I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to do. Are you going to cut the civic light and actually insert it into the lancer housing? I thought you were just going to take the halos and projector lamps out of the entire civic housing and just insert them into the lancer housing. This sounds like a project I might try to work on as well. I would have done it but I was a little leary about breaking the seal on my headlights. If baking them in the oven works pretty well then I just might have to try this.

yeah, the oven thing worked like a freakin charm . easy as cake, my mom could do it - if she had the same muscles i had in my arms. lol. Cause i just pulled those hoes apart with my hands, it was like cheese pizza- Umm, yeah I am taking mostly all of the chrome housing INCLUDING projectors and halos and inserting them into the stock lancer back housing. With the way things are going right now, i might just have to still use my stock set up (with wires > 9007, 1156 and 194 bulbs), and just modify the actual projector. but we'll see. i'm just BUILDING them right now. Not worried about light output or anything like that.

if you guys have some money to burn look into a company called HIDtech.com
they do custom projectors for many manufacturers...the price is not that dirt cheap but you have to remember that the price only goes down with time
i honestly think the best bet is to just simply put the projector into our housing and not try cutting things to make them fit
if u need a shroud then also look into HIDtech.com since they just sells shrouds by themselves

http://www.hidretro.com/ does it too. i'm aware of these sites, i just dont feel like paying $600/700 for headlights, when i can use that for wheels or something else?

i want to put the projectors in myself since no one makes them but i am having a hard time seeing how to do this project! when you get the projector do you just insert the whole projector piece into the original hole where the headlight bulb would go?? i just wish someone would make them so it wouldnt be this difficult!

I dont think it's in the best interest to put the projector right where the stock hole is - cause it's too far back in the housing to really light up the road i dont think. i've put it there just to see, and it's really far back from the lens. I might just build these things, and sell them - casue my dad won't let me re-wire the bulbs from 9007 >> H1, so ya know. i might just build em' really good - and through an auction for the best lancer projectors ever mannnn! haha. I need some money anyways..

if you sell them, you might be the most popular person among lancer drivers right now!! haha but yea i understand what you mean when the lens is to far back! its kind of a kick in the nuts i can pull the engine and tranmission out of my buddys camaro, but i am clueless when it comes to working on my car! haha! keep me posted on the progress, and could be auction!!

we'll see. aha. i might just sell them RIGHT after i build them - and let someone else worry about the rewiring - cause i'm pretty sure i'm not going to rewire them. I NEED money anyway, so hey, yeah i prob. wouldn't mind selling them on ebay -to whoever wants them the most.

hmmm that is a good point about how far back they are...i have discovered a good site called HIDplanet.com...go under the forums and then look in the HID university section they have a great write up about how to do projectors into your cars...
in reference to your concern...just use the stock location but mad spacers in there to move the projector to the front...also maybe get some projectors that are longer than most...i think a 3" projector will have more than enough room in there since they are around 6-7" long....i think start with the stock location
do me a favor...show me the lancer headlight opened up and place the projector in by hand for now...see how it all lines up...don't make things harder than the are...as always KISS...keep it simple stupid
i may take on this project very soon myself since i was going to put projectors in my bro's saab but he has frosted lenses and they are no clear ones available yet so no one will be able to see the HID projectors i put in but i may just use the shrouds and projectors i have now to put into my own car
sorry for the long post...but as far as rewiring goes...just don't cut but get adapters. i installed HIDs in my car for 9007 and i simply plugged the wires into an adapter without ever cutting...i am sure them make it...this way when you are done u just unclip the adapters and boom you are back to stock
laterz man

its possible...but not sure...you would have to do a google search or just fabricate
but why do you want that...what bulbs go into your projectors????
thats the bulb you will be using...what you have to do in order to avoid cutting wires is get the other end of the 9007 adapter you have...so like when you unplug the 9007 bulb from you car you need something that plugs in to there...all you need is a ground wire and a hot wire...the highs will be gone unless you get bixenon projectors....if i still had my HID kit apart i would show you how mine worked.
let me see if i can get you a pic of mine...i'll show you how I added HIDs without a single splice
