Lightbulb Painted Valve Cover...$8!!!

Today i woke up and decided to paint the valve cover in my engine...I ordered a red RR sway bar so i thought a red valve cover would look pretty sweet with it.

1) Read RR valve cover install tutorial...followed it took off cover
2) cleaned cover / washed off all the grease/grime on valve cover.
3) Prepped the valve cover with masking tape over the open areas for sparks and oil cap.
4) Used 2 cans of engine enamel. 2 very light coats to make a good base, then 4~5 more coats. (wait 8 min. between coats)
5) Used Q-tips with some nailpolish remover to take the paint off of the threadings for all of the bolts. (Did it while i waited for the paint to completely dry)
6) Removed all of the tape over the spark holes / oil cap hole.
7) Reinstalled all of the plugs, wires. screws, etc.

Took about 2 1/2 hrs. (including a trip back to pep boys to get more paint)

Looks really nice, and it wasnt too difficult to do. For $8 it is a mod anyone can do and it should look pretty sharp with my red sway bar and chrome/red injen intake! When i get somemore money i'll finish it off with a red oil cap, and some red silicon hoses! now for some pics.

here is the first pic after a few coats of paint... Color looks kinda funny b/c the paint is wet and reflective but it is red.

Bad choice of paint, the 500 degree paint, fades faster than the 1200... anyways it looks ok.

hahahha...yeah i used the 500 degree paint cause you have to bake the 1200 paint in the oven and im a little to n00b for that.
