I just installed mine like a month ago and waxed it real well with mothers cleaning wax before I put it on, even with all the salt and snow and dirt it still looks great, wax is still holding up. Ill have to see how it does in summer tho. I would say try the mothers, It works awsome. Although I heard some waxes make yellowing of the hood move faster so id watch out for that. not sure exactly what waxes but I heard turtle was bad.

I'm in the same boat....had my CF Hood on for about 8 months now and damn thing is beginning to show oxidation.....not as shiny.......Also, car is not garaged. So I know the longevity is cut way short by the ever changing weather...still though....WTF?
I too have waxed the hood....I'll admit, mainly at the touchless carwashes...waxed it really good about 3 times myself with the Meguires 3 step process......still some oxidation....Should I have it detailed and see what happens?
By the way....it is a Seibon OEM CF Hood. I'll post pics tomorrow....dark outside....and rainy right now.
What do you recommend? Thanks.....

this is how i would explain it:
UV radiation is universal, unrelenting, and can never be totally eliminated. Not only does it burn human skin, it burns the exterior "skin" of motor vehicles, aircraft, boats, and trailers. This process is called "oxidation". Every surface is fair game. Paint, plastic, rubber, and vinyl, just to name a few.
Paint turns dull, then chalky. Rubber seals and bumpers turn white, dry out, and become hard as a rock. Vinyl trim will also turn white and eventually crack. Hard plastic (air dams, side mirrors, trim) react similarly to paint.
Capiche?
