Stainless Exhaust Tip Cleaning ?

Ok so ive got a new twist on an old problem (or maybe its just a new twist to me) Ive got the Greddy exhaust on my car and as we all know theres very little clearance at the tip on the OZ's. I got impatient and installed the exhaust without a bumper guard and of course i had a little melting. Im getting a guard, however some of the melted plastic has adhered to my exhaust tip. I got the black plastic itself off however theres now this lovely discoloration on the metal from the melted/baked plastic. Anyone have any suggestions for getting the metal clean ? Ive tried googone and WD40 (that got the plastic itself off) but nothing has gotten the discoloration out. Suggestions anyone . . . ?

There is product specifically made for cleaning stainless, chrome, etc. Check the local parts store. I have and use TurtleWax brand sap, tar, bug, etc cleaner for cleaning pretty much everything on a car that a wash can't clean. Maybe try that @ $2 for a bottle.

Have you tried to clean it when the tip is hot. It may be hard to do, but it might be worth a shot.

Eagle One Never Dull wadding polish. It will clean and polish any metal. If that doesn't work give BlueMagic liquid metal polish a try.

Never Dull works great on my Fujitsubo Exhaust. If it's really dirty, try cleaning it with simple green. Then when it's dry, apply the never dull and let it sit awhile.

ok eagle one, or turtle wax, ill give it a shot and post up some pics when its done. I cleaned it when it was hot using WD40 thats how i got the plastic itself off but the color is still there. Heres hoping the polish takes it off.
