You have to have a certain offset because of the calipers sticking out a little farther than stock. Not sure what the offset of the calipers is though. It's listed in the instructions but I don't have them with me right now. When I sat one of my 18's on the car just to see if it would clear, I had more space between the wheel and the caliper than I thought I would, so I would think that most 17's would probably clear as well, but some might not. I'll get the caliper offset #'s and post it just in case anyone ever needs the info. As long as your wheels have an offset higher than the caliper's then you're good to go.

that would be cool to have the caliper offset #. they look great and probably perform better then they look. a big

I'm not the greatest at getting the actual offset #'s so I will just post a link to the instructions. There is a wheel fitment diagram in there so you can get a better idea of the clearance of your wheels with the kit. Here's the link: Wilwood Big Brake Kit Instructions

ok, so last night I got the new fittings for my brakes. Guess what, they are the same ones that I had originally and they don't fit!!! Wilwood says that the fitting that is meant for my car is a 10mm x 1 inverted flare to -3 NPT, and that's exactly what the shop (that I bought the brakes from) sent me, so why the hell doesn't it fit? The fitting on wilwoods site looks identical to the one that the shop sent me, but they are different companys. The shop sent me a fitting made by russell. Could it be possible that wilwoods is slightly different, just enough for it to fit? It has the same measurements and I was worried that they would send their fitting to me and it would be the same damn thing and not fit. I was on the phone with a wilwood tech for 45 min last night and he seems to think that their instructions might be wrong and I might need a bubble flare instead of an inverted flare, so that's what they are sending me. Inside the fitting there is a hole that is protruding up, in like a dome-shape, and this hits the flare that is on my hard line in my car, and that's why the fitting will not thread onto the hard line nut. The stock fitting doesn't have that doem, it is more of a bowl. The wilwood tech said that the bubble flare fitting has a bowl shape, so it should work. I don't understand why the instructions would say that I need an inverted flare, if I really need a bubble flare. And the guy at the shop I got the brakes from said that bubble flares are usually only on european cars. So who knows. I'm assuming that as long as the fitting is the same thread and size, as long as it doesn't have that inverted flare getting in the way, it should work, so I think the bubble flare fitting that they are sending me should work. But we will see. Anyone else have any thoughts on this??

Ok, I finally got the right fittings direct from wilwood and got the damn brakes finished! Here are a few pics with the wheels on. My brakes are much more responsive now. Stops on a dime! Worth every $$ as far as I'm concerned!
