ralliart grille painted and installed!

i got my ralliart grille that i bought off of ozrally0303 yesterday... it originally was red:

and after a few hours of (while having my girlfriend help me out with...) taping, painting, sanding, cutting up tape because it started taking paint off when i removed it (agh!)... we have this:

i also have my nice photoshopped lancer license plate, too... i got sick of just whiting it out and i wanted it to look more nifty in pictures. you can also see my shorty antenna, and the ventshades which i also got yesterday.

right now i'm hunting for an evo VIII wing (preferably the all-ABS one). i sent out 4or 5 PMs but i haven't gotten a response yet. if you guys know of anyone or you're selling your wing shoot me a PM.

Nice grill. www.andysautosport.com, www.body-kits.com or www.kgsengineering.com for the wing.

revolt: the color was an exact match, i had it mixed up at a custom paint shop. it's just the lighting--it matches better than my repainted rear bumper that i got done at a body shop. you can tell there's a slight variation in color when the light hits it just right.

i'd rather have that slight variation than the scrapes that the previous owner put on the car though.

color looks different to me too. looks lighter than the body.
maybe the type of paint you used though. it doesnt look like it is as shiney. so that is prob part of it.

On the yellow cars the paint IS a different shade between the metal and plastic parts. It comes from the factory like that. I'm sure it has something to do with how the paint takes to the surfaces. My factory painted ralliart grill is a hair off with the hood but right on with the bumper when the car is squeaky clean. A little dirt and you don't notice.

dirt is one thing the car has plenty of! i work right next to a car wash that the owner's brother runs... so i really don't have any excuse to have a dirty car.

Wax it with whatever you use on the rest of the car too. Wax kind of "stains" it. That is bare and new paint, if you treat it like you did the rest of the paint the color will come into line.
