wreck pictures and future plans

grrrr... some lady in an explorer missed her turn so she jammed on her brakes and THEN put her blinker on. naturally i hit her when she screeched to a stop. she claimed that she was "blinded" by the sun when the cops got there. if i wasn't blinded by anything, neither was she. i don't see why she needed to lie about anything, regardless of what happened it was going to be MY fault since i hit her.

i'm just going to suck it up and pay for the repairs myself. i checked under the hood, but all i found were pieces of my headlight. no damage in there, i pulled out the headlight and there's no frame damage--which is excellent. i put SO much time and effort into the grille and so i am PISSED that it just got screwed up.

i have to beg people for a little cash, but hopefully i can get together some extra money and i plan on ordering blacked out headlights and a carbon fiber hood from RRM. buying all new stuff will be far cheaper than getting the car fixed up and re-painted. you don't have to paint CF!

i am just going to touch up my stock grille and put that on the car, maybe i will take out the fins in there and fill it with mesh instead. any thoughts on that? i've seen it once or twice before and it looked pretty good.

best of all was that there wasn't a SCRATCH on the explorer. even better still was that this is my week off since i'm in between jobs... left my old one saturday and i'm starting my new one next monday. i wasn't supposed to have to be stressed out this week!

Maybe you weren't blided because Explorers are big enough to block the sun. Just another soccer-mom with an un-necessarily large vehicle likely

For a hood I'd recommend Seibon.

she definitely left a tiny little patch on the road. THEN drove away... so i had to follow doing the old hand out the window PULL OVER! motion. it was like she didn't even notice she just caused a wreck. no wonder people like that run their children over all the time.

i'm slowly scraping together cash and hopefully tomorrow i will be able to place an order at RRM. i don't know if i will get the stuff in time for when i start my new job, i'm going to feel terrible rolling up in a broke-*** lancer. i'll just have to tell 'em the story, too.

thanks for the input, guys.

winter DEFINITELY sucks. sucks like massachusetts drivers!

i should be able to get the parts ordered tomorrow, so that's good. i'll put 'em on myself and hopefully put all this behind me. i may need the front bumper repainted, but since it's lower to the ground i slid right under the explorer instead of smashing my bumper all in.

that sucks. i just mangled the front end of my car too. I looked around the for sale section on here an managed to get a JDM grill for $100 and a VIS CF evo hood for $200.
i got my insurance to pay for it though.

your best bet for replacement parts is here on the forums. I'm about to have a Carbon Fiber, Mesh grill for sale so if your interested pm me.

very cool... i WOULD file a claim with my insurance but it would be my fault no matter what. sure i'd save $500, but i'd still have to throw down my $500 deductible AND then pay over the next 6-7 years. as it stands i can barely afford the damn insurance, rates are so screwy here. i'll just take the extra $500 now instead of the who knows how much over the next few years.

for now i'm switching back to the stock grille painted black... i dug it up in the basement and cleaned it up. it's ready for paint tomorrow.

and yeah, something must be out to get our lancers on the east coast. everyone watch out for the lancer gremlin.

yeh... my incident with the plow truck was my fault but im goin through insurance anyway. It wont go up much at all and if any since im only getting older it will start to go down... as long as i keep my driving clean. my dmg totals up around $1,100 from the quotes I got.

Dude that sucks. I grew up dealing with M******* drivers and I'm happy to say, I've lost most of my M******* driving traits, lol. Good luck with your replacement parts. It may suck that the front end got jacked, but at least you didn't get jacked up.
