I ordered touch up paint for my 2008 lancer. It is Apex silver. The dealer gave me a color called cool siver. They said by my vin this is the color. Of course it is darker. They insist cool silver and apex are the same. My paint code is A31A. Cool silver is A31. I wouldn't need touch up if the damm paint wasn't so thin. They need to paint their product better.I hope the make a bra , but I hear it isn't going to happen. All they make is a hood deflector and it looks like crap.

 

I'm no mod but I'd say this topic doesn't belong in here. Where are the pictures of the car? At least show people the problem instead of just writing up a rant.

 

Where would I post it?...I tough this was show and shine. The shine part would relate to paint. Thanks for the 2 cents.

I'm saying it doesn't belong in here because you're talking about a problem and then that's it. There's no question as how to make it better.

I mean maybe I'm overlooking the fact that you're trying to steer us away from a bad product? But then again it's a car and so many people have the new '08 Lancer. So could it be a bad run? Not likely, so then this leaves us with an isolated incident caused by your dealer. No info on the dealer either, no name or place to determine where we should be staying away from.

All I'm saying is this thread doesn't jump out and tell me what it's trying to accomplish. Maybe revise it and then it would belong.

 

if they say it's the same and they matched it with your VIN there's a good chance that it's the same.

you could always get a second opinion at a paint shop though... give them the color code and see what they say it is.

I'm not here to argue. Anyways I can't find a bra for the front end. I have to use a cheap bug screen. True I travel the highway every day but man this car chips easily. I read some other posts that Lancer owners are having the same problem. All Mitsu offers is a hood bug deflector. I think it makes the car look unsporty. I guess I wanted to know why would Mitsu calls my color of car Apex silver and gives me a cool silver touch up pen and say it is the same color? Trust me it is a tad darker. Anyways I like the car. Everyone says it looks better than the 04 Tiburon I traded in on the Lancer.

 

Have you looked into clear bras? I've seen them before and they don't stick out as much as the regular bras - you pretty much have to be standing next to the parked car to see it.
