They are wrong you could have it custom made or buy the OEM dash for the lancers with S&S for around $300. The main things is keeping the steering wheel and bluetooth controls that is not possible as yet because no one has made an aftermarket dash-kit that keeps all of the controls yet

There is another 08 owner in this forum who had a JVC double din installed, and he had a PAC steering wheel control adapter installed with it and it worked fine. My friends at the Best Buy I work at are going to try to install my steering wheel and bluetooth adapters tomorrow with my Avic-D3. I will let everyone know how it goes. Wish me luck!

Well... I got the bluetooth adapter in but they still can't figure out the steering wheel controls! Every shop I have tried said they need a wiring diagram or a wire harness to get the PAC adapter to work. There is a member in here (Jake26 I think) who had a JVC double din installed in his 08 with the steering controls and said his shop had no problem. I sent him a PM asking for the phone number of that shop so I can call them and ask how they did it, but no response yet. I also need to find out how to bypass the dvd player in the D3... Anyone know how?

I will as soon as I get my new amp. Hopefully within a month or two I will getting a nice big Fosgate Mono amp and maybe a Fosgate Cap as well. Then I will make it all pretty... even though I never have the seats down to show it off.

So last night I figured I would try and bypass the dvd blackout while driving on my Avic-D3. Best Buy said it would very hard to do since it has the GPS, but I read a bunch of forums and it took all of about 10 minutes! It works great and now I (and by "I" I mean my passenger) can watch a movie or use all of the nav features while driving. Glad I didn't listen to them and just tried it myself!
