4B11 Valve Cover

Hey guys. I'm sure many of you hate the flimsy plastic cover that says Mitsubishi Mivec. Well, I decided to take off that plastic cover to see what the actual valve cover looks like. It was black and made of plastic or a material similar to plastic but it can certainly withstand heat. Structurally, it's quite strong as well. I decided to do something about the bland engine bay of the 4B11. Here is what I came up with:

I took off the valve cover and soaped it down with some good old Dawn. I then Sanded it down with 320 Grit Sand paper. I then used Dupli-Color Hi-Temp Base Coat of grey. I put two layers between 15 minutes of drying. I then used Dupli-Color high temp Red Caliper spray paint. 2 coats did the trick and it came out extremely well. I plan on ordering the Carbon Fiber spark plug cover from RRM. What do you guys think? Looks better than the plastic cover right?

That looks good. It really cleans up the engine bay.

Looks much better. +1 on the CF spark plug cover. I just wish he exhaust was in front. The intake don't look so nice. I'm sure it's set up that way for better performance & I would take performance over looks in the engine bay any day.

Looks really good. I can't help but think "redtop motor!" though, since those are pretty much the epic SR20 motors...

But since I still have my stock "over cover" on, I guess it'd be pointless for me.
