Hello all,
I recently bought a Lancer OZ 2003. I don't like the wheels it came with and want to replace them with 17 or 18 in wheels. Do you have any recommendations on what wheels should I go for? I don't have a lot of money to spend.
This is basically a commuter car for me. I don't do any high speed driving or racing etc. I just want the car to look a little better. I am also wondering about the long term dammage if any of the bigger wheels. Thanks a lot.

The easiest thing to do is visit us at www.tirerack.com and check out our Upgrade Garage. You can see your car with the wheels on it as well as the individual prices. Check it out at the following link:

Thanks Neal!
I would like to know about the long term damages to your car if you use the custom wheels. Manufacturers prefer you stay with the same wheels size as the stock wheels, isn't it? What does the Mitsu say about lancer OZ 2003. Thanks.

Using the correct size wheels and tires should not cause any vehicle damage. Because a lot of cars today have systems such as ABS, traction control, AWD, etc that work off of tire diameters, manufactures recommend staying with a tire that is the same diameter to avoid problems. All the plus sized tires and wheels we have will stay within the manufactures recommended specs.

i like www.tires.com, they too have a place where you can view many rims on your car, personally id go with 17" rims, 18s are nice but tend to look too big on the lancer and have less than an inch of rubber between your rim and the ground, also with the 17s go with a 215/40-17 tire, most of these sites you dont need to know bolt pattern, its in the owners manual, i dont remember off hand, but you cant go wrong with upgraded rims and tires
