Rim and tire help?
just at the title says i need a little help with rims and tires. ive searched around but im still a bit confused and jsut want second opinion. Im planning on getting some 17 by 7.5 rims with a 35 mm offset with 205 40.17 tires. i have stock suspension as well. is this set up okay or would i have to do any extra work to install these rims and tires? and has anyone installed rims this big and wide with the same offset? id like to hear your opinions as well. thanks for the help everyone

At the stock ride height it shouldn't be too bad. I know a lot of ppl run 18X7.5 rims without much problems. Depending on the size tires you decide to run, it may rub a little.

thats what i have... 17x7.. 205/40/17. with 1.8 inch drop..(tein s-techS)
they fit 100% fine, no rub... but tire does look a little streched, i would rather go with 215/40/17s
i just went through 1 full set of tires in 10 months.. (pretty fast, not even 15k miles)

The op is asking about 17x 7.5 though... So far, you, brandon, and I are running the same size rim

i dont see a purpose to going with that extra half and inch if all it does is cause problems.. exspecially if your not sure if they will work.. 17x7 is a safe bet!

Yeah man, the rears wore out really fast... I got em' rotated regularly,
but they didn't last more than a year... Then again they are kumhos... i'm
sure if I invested in a decent set of tires they'd last me a little longer

Luckily for me though, I work at Discount Tire, so I have the luxury of going through tires a little quicker lol.
I think my next set's gonna be Yokohama S-Drives. I've heard a lot of good
things about them
