UPDATE!
as you can see mock up of the engine has started. Its by no means in the final position but dam there is a lot of room in the engine bay lol. We had to cut a section out of the rad support but it will all be sexed back up once complete. I'm pretty excited, its looking sweet!

no, we still have to cut a bit of the firewall out but yes it will be that way.. its the only way it can go for rwd. Its actually better then the normal way, it allows better weight distribution over the center line of the front wheels.. Will provide better acceleration and handling.

I was kind of looking to do the same thing to make an EVO6 out of a Mirage, a RWD one too.

Thing that I am curious about is....

1. what other trannys would work? I read about a Starion that had the stock tranny in it and was a direct bolt up.
2. How are you going to mount that engine?
3. As far as the rack goes, I have no idea how I would do it, making the RHD thing I mean- I would like to stay LHD, would a custom rack become needed?
4. The drive shaft clearance, I know your car does, but I dont know about the Mirage- I doubt that it is going to be hard- but any thoughts?

Your car looks amazing, kudos bro.

1.starion tranny should bolt up but I doubt it would handle any kind of power to make it worth while.
2. Engine will be mounted using custom made mounts/universal mounts
3. You will have to use a rack from a 240sx, a rx7, supra, gernally any car with a engine which is mounted longitudinally. The big issue which we still have to overcome is the front subframe (holding the lower control arms as well as the sway bar) the sway bar also gets in the way,.. will have to see.
4. Does the mirage not have a tunnel through the center of the floor like the lancer? if not I'm sure a bit of sheet metal wouldn't fix that..
