Lancer es v6 twin turbo awd & evo body

Okay if you haven't ran into the thread this was on then here is whats going on. My friend bought this 2003 Lancer ES for 6K January of 2008 and wrecked it in July. I bought it from him for 800$ and fixed it temporarily to drive it. I drove it until January of 09 and started the Evo 8 body conversion, then i figured while it on down time I would start a drive train conversion. So the plan was an LS2 i picked up for 200$, then found a 3000GT VR4 for 800$ so i bought that and tore the drive from it and I am currently rebuilding the VR4 engine and making the new mounts for the AWD AWS set up. These are the **** ton of pics I have found. My goal is to build the cheapest/sickest/most one of a kind Lancer yet.

So far prices are.
2003 Lancer ES 800$
Evo Hood 80$
Evo F & R bumper 150$
Headlights 300$
Fenders 150$ x2
Recaros 300$
Sideskirts 90$
1993 3000GT VR4 800$
Plasma cutter, MIG welder, 27Gal Comp. 700$
Evo Gauges 50$
.......cant think of anything else

to date all we've seen you do is take stuff apart. from what I've seen so far I predict a major hack job if you manage to some how make it all fit. Your biggest issue is your budget is so small you dont even use proper safety equipment, from there your lack of experience... I mean comon, your crawling under a 3500lb vehicle, ripping out suspension and cutting all while being supported in the rear by one jack stand and a friggen **** road side car jack...
I wont even go into how you have have your evo rad mount half stuck in place while the drivers side headlight hangs because that section of the rad support is missing.. or how you tried to bondo the evo rear bumper to fit with the regular lancer quarters..

Like I told you from day one, you need to take your time, plan things out. Measure, do things right the first time. Measure tac, then measure again.. then adjust... then measure.. so forth and so on..

not sure what you plan to do with the subframes since no bolts line up what so ever, and if you think you can just drill holes where ever, put the bolts through and a nut and a washer on the other end, your going to be real sorry when your driving around and the subframes rip out of the body..

You said you want to build the cheapest sickest lancer out there. I will tell you right now you will not have the nicest lancer out there by going the cheap route. I can for sure tell you, you will have the biggest disaster out there.

Well said, there is no possible way to have the cheapest and the sickest Lancer out there, that's like saying you want the hottest, most overweight girlfriend ever, it just doesn't make sense. I completely agree with turbotime, you've posted these pictures before and they're just disassembly pictures. You still haven't addressed the obvious compatibility issues nor have you given any indication as to how you're going to wire the car together. I predict a very problematic future, if the car doesn't crush you when it falls off the one jack stand you have.

I have to agree also.... just totally forget about the budget man and put your safety and the safety of your passengers first this is not just a bolt in project take your time and do everything right If i were you before I even think about spending money to rebuild the motor is would try to start getting the subframes in place even if the motor is blown you can still use it align the mounts that you will have to fabricate but just my opinon and what I would do.

Wow, man I hope you have a good plan together seeing as how you went from LS1 and RWD to 6G72TT and AWD right in the middle of things. the 6G72TT sits on the opposite side of the bay, but since the rest of your job is wildly custom I don't guess that is of any concern to you. Also if it gets to be too overwhelming, I've heard of 6A12/13TT swaps done in Mirages. They are 2.0/2.5L twin turbo V6s from Galant VR-4's. The ones that came out of the last generation Galant VR-4, what we know as the 99-03 8G Galant, had the 2.5L TT and they sit on the correct side of the bay like the Lancer does. It "should" be an easier swap. Notice I say should because I've never done it, nor seen it done, just seen the end result, but its a JDM only engine harder to source. Once you pull that off it should be just a matter or raiding the junkyards of AWD Mitsus like Outlanders to try to piece your AWD together, or maybe get a holt of a rear clip from a JDM AWD Cedia.

I imagine its going to be hell/slash nigh impossible to get 4WS to work on a Lancer.

Good luck.

We have been waiting, according to your self-imposed time span, you have a few weeks to finish and I believe you're already over budget.

But i am serious, i will show you a running Lancer with a V8 in 3 months
This was posted February 18, so you effectively have two weeks to finish. You also state here

that you'll do it for 1500$. It sounds like you've either surpassed this budget or you're very, very close.
Of course there's also this gem
