That looks pretty cool.

You should be able to fix the gap by removing the bumper assy. and bending up the bracket that the bumper cover attaches to. I take it you ran into something that damaged your car kind of high if all it got was the hood and fender. What ever you hit still may have hit the bumper and pushed down on it bending the bracket down.
