Black emblems
NOTE: Stop voting, the emblems are already on the car.
OK, hopefully with blessings from pgmike for totally biting his idea, I'm thinking of taking my and my new Evo-8 style LANCER emblems and making them black. I have a silver Lancer with black stripes and CF reflectors, so I decently have a silver & black theme going. When I read pgmike's thread, it occurred to me how bad-*** it would look to have the emblems be either black or CF. Also, I'm getting a Ralliart grill when the group buy goes through, so this would remove the last bits of chrome. What does everyone think?
A. Debadge the stock ones and rebadge them black
B. Stick with the stock chrome badging

scuffed them with 320 grit, 3 layers of primer, 3 layers of paint, and 3 layers of clearcoat. then used razor and the sandpaper to shave extra paint and clearcoat off edges. then used 3m mounting tape to mount on trunk.

I did the grille on my car, but on the last clear coat i accidently picked up the primer and well ya know... so i did a quick job to finish it up because by that time i was really pissed and didnt want to spend much more time on it. So i am doing it over with pgmike later. But it is a pretty easy thing to do and looks great. I know mike will have pics of the grille up later.

I do not know how to make them black chrome, but that would be pretty cool. dont some ppl refinish their rims to make them chrome or black chrome? Id assume that you could use the same paint, but who knows.
heres the link to my painted grille i just did

i would definitely suggest painting the emblems. i did mine probably about the same time as pgmike. it's been done for about a week or so and i love it. why in the hell mitsu put chrome all over the car anyway is a mystery to me. anyway though, go for it.

could you do it in your basement. i used to live in OH, so i know how cold it can get. living in FL now is nice since im not restricted by temps. i got my evo "lancer" badge for free from the member Scot. you could send it to me and i could paint it for you and send it back if you are that anxious and cant do it till the spring.
