Exclamation new hood won't fir right, help

I just got a gt hood from body-kit.com and i am having fitment problems. There is a gap on the left side and it won't close. When I start to put it down I feel it start to resist around 60% down. Do I need to remove some of the underside of the hood near the top? That seems to be where it is getting restricted. Has anyone else put on a new hood? Please let me know how i can correct the gap and the restriction of putting it down. Thanks everyone.

*After reading the instructions from Accolade, it is looking closer but still not there. I have about a .5 inch gap at the head lights and can't get the latch to catch past the first one. (won't lock down all the way.) Can anyone else give me some help. This hood is really starting to get to me.

i've heard of people having problems with that hood. pretty much anything could be a possibility...... adjusting the hinges, adjusting the rubber stops by your fenders and headlights, maybe even shaving the material down. i installed my hood (different company though), and have installed 2 bodykits on my buddy's lancers so far. if you want, i can help. pm me.... i'm in chicago. i'm sure we can figure it out.

Dude, that really sucks. I got the same hood last week and it didn't fit. I emailed Dimantha from Accolade and he sent me his instructions but they didn't work either. DriftRunSir (same hood, same problem) and I came up with the conclusion that it's way to thick, goes up to far towards the windshield and doesn't curve enough in the center. You could strip the underframe of the hood and attach it to you stock hood. I contacted Dave and he sent me an Evo7 hood instead. I was really excited cause I was gunna be the first person with the Evo7 front and GT hood but it doesn't fit . Anyways, if it's like mine you won't get it to fit. Maybe you'll get lucky and it won't be as bad as mine though. PM me your email and I'll send you Dimantha's email of instructions. Hope this helps.

My Evo VII hood didn't fit either in the first place. I also went to a body-shop and same thing happened, the hood won't fit. And after a month, the hood just fit.

HOOD Installation

http://www.body-kit.com/hoodin01.html

Hood Installation.

The GT HOOD is a bit thick. Due to this the hood has to be adjusted properly before Fitting. For many who install this hood, what happens is they forget that the HOOD slides down when they try to install it.

For example try this, Once you install the hood, do not tigten the bolts and just have them loose, And now try to move the hood front left to right, right to left and also botton to TOP, You can see that you can adjust the HOOD easily, any way you like. It has a play of almost 1cm.

Most important thing is when you install the HOOD the GT HOOD slides towards the Windshield, So two people have to PULL IT UP and the third person has to tighten the bolts. Pictures is Attached. Once this is done it will fit perfectly,

If only two people try to install it, they will not be able to. Also the hood has to be adjusted 3-4 time before the final exact aligment is taken.

Attached is picture of how to lift the hood up before tigtening the BOLTS>

I will try re-adjusting it as in the pics tomorrow. We spent around 3 hours working on this hood and it just doesn't seem to want to attatch. I agree that the curve doesn't seem to be the same. We did a test with a level and it came to be about 1 inch less curve at the tips than the stock hood.

3 people to install? I installed my cf hood by myself haha.

I mean it would have been easier if there was 3, it would have been even more easier if there was 20. But do you really need 3 people to install this hood?

hmmm, make sure not to tighten the bolts until you align them, pull them towards and close the hood to check it. once it's all good. tighten the bolts.
