Painting console

How would would something like the console (the sides, not the brushed silver area) respond to paint? I'd love to paint mine silver. Would it work, or just look like crap?

yeah, it would. You just have to do some serious sanding. AND TAKE YOUR TIME. I did alot of my interior in a black/silver marble

comes out fine

i onyl lightly sanded once to get any dirt/grime off the parts and than primered/painted/clear coated away, looks beautiful still
