bolt pattern adapters

Anyone ever try using and adapter with their rims to get them to fit? I have a set of 17 Konig Verdicts from my old car that has a different bolt pattern. I believe the offset is the same as what i need as it is from a front wheel drive as well. Can someone let me know if I should look into getting adapters or just buy new rims all together. Thanks.

an adapter would screw up the off-set and your car would look funny with the wheels sticking out.

I was thinking that they would probably stick out, but i wasn't too sure, besides with the cost of buying the adapters, (about 100$ a piece if you don't machine them yourself) it would prolly be better just to buy new ones. On that note anyone wanna buy a set of almost new Konig 17" verdicts that don't fit a Lancer? lol j/k

Heh.... I don't think so. Try going on a forum for your old car. Other than that, if you buy new ones locally and these rims are in good shape you might get a good trade-in value on them toward your new ones.

wow, nothing in 4 years, eh?

Well, this is all I found...4 years ago someone asked:-p I read the stickies in the forum, lots of good info.

Has anyone tried bolt pattern adapters? I've noticed a lack of wheel selection with the 4x114.3 and was wondering if something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...226660497&rd=1

would work to get a better selection of wheels...

But then I saw they were 30mm... That sounds like a LOT. Especially when the guide was talking in 5mm/10mm increments.

Just for the sake of argument, what kind of offset would I be looking at for a wheel offset if I was going with 18" rims if i was to use these? Most of the wheels I'm finding are 42-48 offset in the 4x100 pattern...

I honestly don't know anything about the adapters. But as for our 4x114.3 bolt pattern, you might also see this pattern listed as 4x4.5 (in 4x114.3, the 114.3 is millimeters...where-as in 4x4.5, the 4.5 is inches). But 4x114.3 is the same size as 4x4.5. Additionally, if you find rims that are a four lug pattern, but they have eight (8) lug holes, these are typically a universal 4 lug fit. One set of the holes will be 4x100 (won't fit an OZ) and the other set of holes will be 4x114.3/4x4.5 (will fit an OZ). You really should be able to find a crap load of rims that fit our car. A few websites to check would be:

www.wheelsnext.com
www.tirerack.com
www.wheelfire.com

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Yeah, I tried some of the "universal" ones before, but they didn't quite match up...
