just show. if they get too big, your acceleration slows down because it takes more power to move the bigger wheel...to get it to go around all the way.

agreed, thats why a lot of the guys that run autocross and are serious about racing usually keep their stock oz rims because they are 15". Or they'll ditch them to get a slightly bigger rim, but one that is much much lighter.

The show guys are the ones riding on 18's

http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_p...ID=1&ss_id=138 <-that's the rims i got except it's a 4 lug pattern not a universal.

oh there not 11.7 there 10.8 pounds each...don't kno where i got 11.7 from . hehe i wouldn't call myself hardcore...but i do love the jdm look. right now all i have on my car is a front strut brace, short ram intake, powerslot rotors, aftermarket brake pads, debadged trunk, ralliart grill, and clear headlights *soon to paint the ugly chrome black*. Yeah so nothing to big done to my car...i just wanna make sure my car will last and remain nice and clean for a couple of years.

o yeah i got those rims for $85.00 each wrapped in some unknown tires though... well i'm switching the tires to falkens as well. damn i need to learn how to upload pictures.

Larger rims can give better handling, though.

It's all about contact patch vs. weight.

Ideally, you want a larger, wider wheel that weighs the same.

o i have a pearl white oz.

my friend actually took me to a shop in L.A. sorry i don't know the name of the shop *i'm a nor. cal head*. I was just visiting. Blew most of my tourist funds there aha. I'll try to find out ASAP though.

yeah i was planning on getting 16-17 in. rims, i just didn't see a purpose in getting bigger rims/tires. Hence this topic

Yeah obviously there are good reasons to stay 15 and good reasons to go bigger. I didn't get a lancer to race, but I can look good, so I went with 17's. Thinking about going 18's sometime though. Maybe if I ever move somewhere less full of potholes

17-18's look odd to me when the car isn't slammed to the ground. I got turned off to buying bigger rims/tires because i see a lot of lancers around here looking like mini suv trucks with 17-18's and they didn't slam the car to the floor. imo.

^ good point. i hate it when its stock height and they shove big wheels on it. i think it looks stupid. i think people get rims, just so they can say, "i have 18's" or "i have 20's" when their car would look better with something smaller.

i want to know what shop...i'm in so cal, and that sounds like a decent price. let me know if you can. thanks.

Nah, I got them because I think they look better, not to say I had them. If I thought having a bigger size was cooler I would have gone 18's. I didn't slam it because I can't.
