Question quick suspension Q:

Just wondering if anyone knows if EVO and Lancer front suspesion mounts are the same or not? I really want to get some lower front bars, and besides the ralliart set that is made for our lancer, (and can't find) I've only seen this cusco set. I know these suspensions are drastically drifferent, but would the mounts be too?

we will never handle quite as well, but with coilovers and all bars and rear sway we could hold our own... i have just a sway bar and my car flows through turns like butter.

Thanks for the replies, they are pretty cheap bars so If it doesn't fit I guess I can sell them.

If the Evo VIII/Lancer relationship is anything like the Evo IV-VI/Mirage relationship, the 2pt bar will work, but the 4pt bar for the Evo will not. The Evo VIII should have additional bolt holes on it's cast crossmember for the 4pt, which the Lancer does not have on it's welded crossmember. The trend seems to be to alter the construction of the suspension, but not the geometry. Which, does mean that aside from the added unsprung weight, much of the Evo's handling is in fact hereditary.

Good news! At school tonight, (UTI) my buddy put his evo on a lift, and my car got on a lift right next to it.....suspension mounts are the same! For those that want to eliminate 90% of understeer can with the evo cusco lower bars!! Yippee!

I'll definately be interested in these. I covered this in another thread, but those of you looking for better handling, I found out the front suspesion mounts are the same on our lancers as the evo's. that means h-braces, k-bars, etc. WILL fit on our car! All that and bushings mean a superior road machine!

Sorry, not to go too far off topic, but ALL front suspension mounts or just strut towers? No engine/clearance issues?

actually, don't know about upper....just wanted to know about lower fronts because I was interested in the cusco lower bars (all lower bars will fit). I'll be at school in an hour, and if my friend has the Evo, I'll rack it and check everything out.

ALL lower bars? Downpipe won't hit or anything? Are you getting any? I'd love to see a set on the Lancer before I buy...
