I thought "boing" only happened in cartoons.

Can you be more specific?

i think it is the circular plate near the top of the shock. it fell down and is now rattling. i took back to the shop and he put it back up where it should be and the noise stopped. the only way to describe this noise is boing. the spring is compressing or stretching when i turn and letting go. this is what is causing the noise. i was driving home and i heard the circular piece fall when i hit a bump and the noise came back. did i get a bad set of TEIN's?

the guy at the shop told me he has no idea what is wrong. what the f- could this be?
