225/50/15........

....on a 15x6.5 wheel with 38mm backspacing? Yay or nay? The minimum recomended width for a 225 tire is 6" and according to at least 1 other post it should work OK.

ANy opinions from the experts?

Yay, I ran that exact setup (225/50/15 BFG G-force tires on 15x6.5 Rota Slipstreams with 38mm offset) and had no rubbing at all. Even did very well in my autocross class with that setup. Keep in mind, this will suck the tire in a tad as it's actually for a 7" rim, but you won't have any problems with a 6.5

Sweet. How did it look? Did it look "too" pinched on the rim at all? Got any pics?

There's some good pics I had of when I was running those tires. imo not too sucked in and filled the fender quite well for a 15" tire.

Looks great...a lot of rubber for sure. Were you lowered at all or is that stock height?

That was lowered approx 2". I can't tell you for sure because it was on a Tein SS kit and all I cared about was balanced corners, not ride height.

so urbanknight, are the 225/50/15 any smaller sidewall (or overall diameter) than the stock 195/60/15? if so, they dont look like it at all. o yeah, where did you get the wheels from? (been looking for rota slipstreams and many others like it, but cant seem to find our lug pattern)

Overall diameter when I put them side by side with my stock wheels were almost exact. I bought my rims from a fellow EvoM member who lives near me. His logon is DriftRunSir if you want to try to PM him. Last time I checked, he and his friend were going to open up a tire shop and had gotten an account set up with Rota directly (they were filipino, so Rota liked them). Otherwise, www.jaydm.com sells them and the slipstream has both lug patterns already. Other models require special order for the OZ pattern.
