225s VS 215s

So last night i swapped my rims from my accord to my lancer and the rear are 225/45/17 and they rub pretty bad (my car is not lowerd either) On the front i have 215/45/17 is that what everyone else is running also? I remember i always got the 215 but the 225s i got for a smokin deal. So my question is.. What is everyone else using? i think it shouldnt rub with 215s

205/40/17's are really close to stock diameter, they wont rub

That size is close to the ES stock size, not the OZ stock size (you'll notice the original poster drives an OZ while the first response is by an ES owner. 205/45/17 is very close to the stock OZ size and 215/40/17 is an ok size. Refer to the tire calculator:

^ Not true. 225/50/15 was the perfect size for autocrossing on a 15x7 rim. No rubbing, nice wide footprint, and the tire wasn't sucked in nor was the rim too wide. The trick with the larger rim diameters, however, is finding the right profile to fit that width.
