Aftermarket caliper

Are there any aftermarket calipers available for the ES? I don't like seeing the stock ones through my rims how they are the even the look of the stocks painted isn't to my liking. Is there any company that makes ones for the ES or atleast makes a pair that would fit??

I do believe you would need to get a big brake kit from like willwood or somebody.

You might be able to use DSM calipers and make a custom Big brake kit. The mirage guys have done it a lot.

You are correct sir!!!, i could tell you what DSM calipers to use for the mirage, but you can find all the info @ www.mirageforums.net and look for the "big brake" upgrade section on how-to's

would a big brake kit for a mirage fit a 02 lancer? Cause the ones they have out, I believe the Wilwoods, are pretty expensive. Brembo only makes Rotors.

I'm running 18's on my car and feel as if it's straining my braking performance.

And if it does fit, which one?

Well, the rotors used for the MIRAGE "big brake upgrade" are 10'' (254mm)

Calipers: can be from either a 7G (1994-1998) Galant or from a FWD DSM.

Left hand caliper Mitsu part # RMB928410
Right hand caliper Mitsu part # RMB928411

Brake pads: from either the Galant or DSM.

Front pad set Mitsu part # MZ690001

Brake lines: either stock rubber lines or upgraded 2G Eclipse SS lines.

sorry, the 2L motor comes with discs that size already. if anything, they'll want the bigger brake upgrade(276mm) with the dual piston calipers

it'd be nice if i could get my hands on caliper piston diameters, but i can't seem to find any. so here's this. brake pads.

7G Galant/2G Eclipse GS-T

Lancer

soooo, unless the piston diameters are significantly larger, you'd have to find another tid bit that'd lull me over.

brake master cylinder piston diameter on the eclipse is 1" as opposed to .87". the brake booster on the eclipse has a boosting ratio of 6.5 as opposed to 5.0. braking power in the GS-T are not from the calipers.

You went all scientific on that one! Thanks for doing the research though. Aren't the calipers dual-piston though?

the GS-T has different brakes than the GS-X. the GSX has 276mm rotors with the 2 piston calipers. the GST has the 254mm rotors with the single piston calipers. the GST guys upgrade to GSX brakes. so if anything, upgrade to the 276mm rotors(from the 89-92 Galant VR-4 4x114 lug pattern) and dual piston calipers from the GSX.
