Lightbulb New Purchase: Brake Pads and Rotors - $100.00

Yep, I'm cheap. College student who does not drive very fast, does not race on the weekends, enjoys performance parts, so I thought I'd give a try to new rotors and brake pads.

First, the rotors.
Since, the last time I did a brake change I didn't change the rotors, and I used high performance brake pads...new rotors are a must:

www.Tirerack.com
Do not forget to mention Neal @ Evolutionm.net
About $45 for both and then shipping about $12

Brake Pads.
I still have Axxis Ultimate which are good and very dependable but they create a lot of brake dust, and also don't last all that long. Maybe it's because the way I drive, or maybe it's because I didn't change the rotors or resurface them, I really don't know. Axxis Ultimate are really good but I think Hawk Brake Pads recommended by Neil @ Tire Rack would be something I'd look into next year (I drive a lot).
So here you go, $40 brake pads from www.Nopionline.com
I don't know if they are any better or worst than Axxis Ultimate. They might be the same. I just wanted to get through the winter knowing I wouldn't want to change my brake pads in the snow (live in a condo).

If you will decide to attempt and save some money on safety, go ahead and do it, just don't drive like an idiot.

Review will follow once I will receive both products and install them on my car.

Just got a call from Neal saying the rotors are on a back order. I knew that because that's what it says on their website so I don't have a problem waiting 2-3 weeks.

+1 for a fast response to Neal.

I can't wait until my rotors die so I can try the Ate ones. I really like the design. Post up when you get it all working.

Satisfied is a decent name in pads. I like the Hawk HPS, but they're SUPER dusty.

I was wondering because if it's ligther than stock that would reduce the amount of rotational mass. Similar to swicthing from stock or chrome rim to lightweight rims.

This thread got me thinking about lighter rotors:

Well, NOPIOnline.com Rocks. Super fast shipping, I got my brake pads today. I will post pics later but I'm impressed. Axxis Ultimate came in some cheap box with brake pads in there. The brake pads I ordered are neatly alligned in a nice red box with BRAKE LUBE! PLUS instructions on how to install brake pads.

Well obviously we don't have rear rotors so why are you confused? They might be for a Lancer in Australia or Cedia Lancer in Japan, who knows, who cares.

i'm confused because i was wondering if they have a conversion kit. I care because it would look good to have rear rotors
