ive got an 02 oz rally with ADR 18x7.5 with 42 offset and 5mm spacers. Right now ive got 215/35R-18 on the rims and they are just too thin. Do you think id be okay with getting the next size up tire maybe 225? Or do I have to stick with the thin pain in the *** feel every bump on the road tire? any advice would be great

Ok, i'm confusing the hell out of myself with the tire calculators since I'm trying to figure out how much positive offset I would need to not run into issues running 17x7.5 with a 15mm adapter. Looking to do this to clear the stock brake caliper in my 2003 OZ so I can put in some stainless steel polished dust covers.
The way I understand it, the less positive offset you have, the deeper the wheel will sit inside the fender. What's the least positive offset available to give maximum fender clearance to offset the larger spacer? I've seen +38... Would this setup even work? I could probably make it work with a 10mm adapter.
There are too many numbers in my brain...it hurts. I have +40 wheels right now with 205/45 tires. Definitely will need different rims if I'm going to do it...just wondering if there's even a setup that would work with this...or if I'd have to roll the fenders. I haven't lowered the ride height any.
I've been using this calculator... http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp
Would the offset need to be calculated differently if you're allowing for a spacer? Or do you just add that amount onto the offset number for the proper fitment calculations?
I was wondering if these would work http://www.frsport.com/Enkei-RPF1-Wh...r_p_20388.html with these http://www.phantasmusa.com/ws5411467a.html I was figuring that the +30mm offset and the decrease to 7in rim might work...opinions?

Very useful tip.
I really was in need for this.
I think my new wheels will fit my 2006 ralliart after I read this thrid.
My new wheels is 17'' 7, off set +40
Tire size: 205/45 R17
Do you think it will go okay?
as I did not installed my wheels yet

just some info: 17" rims, 7.5" width, 225/50 series rubs on hard turns. I went with the higher sidewall to protect the rims from our lovely roads up north, and have my suspension adjusted to about 1" above stock height to compensate (as I'd have real issues with any lowering). The higher sidewall fills the wheel well better.

Hi MaxRalliart,
If they fit depends on if you're lowered or not.

That thread has more information.
On the last page, Keithislegit posted this:
"I'm running 17x7 +40 Enkei Rpm2's on 215/45r17 Bridgestone Potenza's. I get slight rubbing in the rear going overbigbig bumps but with people in the car I rub like crazy."
His car is not lowered.
If you are on stock suspension or lowered slightly, then you will be ok,
