hey guys just wondering would my stock gts rims fit a 8.5" rim or would it be pushing it
should i go with a 225/40 or a 225/45?

maybe with some serious stretching but im not 100%. id got with 235, 225 will be fin as well

 

I presume you mean would an 8.5" wheel fit your stock tire. Anyways, a 215 will be a hell of a stretch. For an 8.5" wheel, you should run a 235-255 tire. I used a 235 tire on an 8" rim and it was a perfect fit, no stretch, no squish. It does depend a bit on the tire though, some run wide for their marked size.

 

on an 8.5 I would probably run a 235/40, don't go 215.

 

it'll be fine, i got 225 on 9 in. wheel
