Help with replacing rear hub

My car started making a whirring sound lately and it seems to be getting louder. I've taken the rear wheels off and narrowed the problem down to a bad rear bearing (which i'll have to replace the hub.)

I've never replaced a hub before and need some pointers. My plan was to:

1. remove hub cap
2. remove self-locking nut 30mm nut
3. remove drum
4. ???hammer??? rear hub out??? i'm not really sure how i'd go about removing that?

how would I install the new hub after i got the old one out? also does a new hub come with studs?

Hub slides right off after taking off the axle nut. You shouldn't even need a hammer. I just did my 5-lug and rear disc conversion at 160K miles and the rear hub slid off like butter. Yes it comes with wheel studs.

Trust me, it's confirmed. Just make sure you clean off the axle surface VERY well before putting the new hub on so there is no dirt or contamination to scar the bearing when installing. And be sure to torque the axle nut down to spec and not just tighten it down with an impact gun.

IIRC, it's 36mm. I know it's 30-something millimeter because I had to run to Sears to pick up a 1/2" socket just to remove it.
