I've got 4 Brand New 18" Rims that I DON'T WANT. There just too big and I doubt I would be able to put a drop kit on my 03 OZ if I put the 18's on. So I'm going with 17's. I don't mean to piggy back off your post but does anybody know what size the best dementions are for 17's? Hight/Wedth/Offset/ect?
I've determined that I don't want anything bigger then 17 x 7 but what I'm really concerned with is the offset. So if I go with 17 x 7 what should my offset be?

I can't remember offset, but for 17" you'll be looking at 205/40/17 for tires.

dude...sounds like you want ur car to look good in which case performance is not ur top priority. Just get some good all season yokohama or continental tires and a 17" rim...something that will not get f*ed in the winter...the last thing u want to do is get nice rims and have them ruined in the winter...If you care about performance then get a light wheel and summer tire combo....but that will run you close to 2K...bottom line though tires are the most important performance part on the car. Actually, Blaze, I think your a little off.

17" rim: 205/45/17 , 215/45/17, 215/40/17, 225/40/17

I got that from the "Everything You Need to Know About Rims and Tires" Thread.
It seemed pretty informative. No mention of 205/40/17's for a 2003 Lancer OZ. But I dunno. I'm gunna bring the specs of the new Rims and the stock tires to TireRack and I'll check with them.

i had the same issue. i asked around and +40 is about as big as you'll want to go. it'll be an aggressive stance and anything bigger will rub.

Those are really nice man. I've always liked Konig's. There sharp. Your running an ES? You got any pics of the car?
I went with 17 x 7 Evoke F4's Gloss Black with a +40 Offset.

I'll post some pics after I have them mounted and balanced.

thanks bud. i just bought the car maybe two weeks ago, so it's all stock royal blue pearl which i thought would look good with that gold finish. i'll put some pics up as soon as the wheels come in.

i lucked out, RRM is maybe 20 mins away from me those guys are pretty cool.

evoke has some pretty cool designs, how much did those set you back?

Indeed, but my preference goes to a 40 profile. 225 is too wide for the Lancer, and I think some people complained about rubbing issues with 215; hence why I suggest 205/40/17. That's what I ran for years.

You live in chicago, your best bet unless you want to buy a 2nd set of rims and tires for winter is to go with a all season performance tire.

Toyo makes a great tire and if you just want a high performance tire, then the proxos is a great tire.

On my project crx, I am running Yokohoma Parada(Spell check, LOL) Spec 11 and I love this tire... i drive all year on them and have no problems. great all around tire and I love rippin through turns.

40 to me is a bit low, Id go more for a 45 series. still a low profile but 40 is pretty stiff and not the most comforting thing driving around chicago land cuz the roads suck..

Wheeldude.com has some great prices on rims and I would get the rims and tires first before the suspension. I still think that you can get lowering springs, rims and tires for your budget.

I spent $77 x 4 for my Parada Spec 2's - and you should be able to get a nice looking rim for $100-$150 a piece. You don't need a light weight rim unless your going for all out performance and if that was your mindset, you would not be starting with rims and tires.

This is an easy package deal for you.....

you could run something like these for rims and save a bunch of cash and its a decent rim - I have run this brand in the winter on my winter setup and we have had great success...

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/MiniW...d=true&sw=1280

Or an Evo 8 like rim such as:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/MiniW...d=true&sw=1280

you do something like those and you can easily get 4 tires for around $70-$80 each and get lowering springs and heck, almost shocks as well.

Something like these:

Well im n ot running the fancy 5 lugs like everyone here unless the OZ has 5 lugs but since I have 4 I plan on running these rims with a 35 or basically a step above low profile

Ill probably get these in 17's and when I go turboat least a little weight wont slow me down. Plus i like the little studs in the wheels thats the look I was going for
