fair warning... cheap rims usually means heavy and easily bent, especially from wheelmax.

Altogether too true. You should see my ADR Ikaris. I loved the look, but they bent like those wheels you get with Kraft cheese and macaroni. It took a while for me to do the first bend, but after that I bent each wheel in multiple places before buying my Konigs (one of which I bent as well, but I think just about any wheel would have bent on the pothole I hit that time).

I will not buy cheap wheels again. Moderate or better for me from the day I bought my Rated-R's on forward.

you get what you pay for................ you can drop 600-800 now and then again in a year or you can get a better rim for 1200-1500+ ............... inevitably the cheaper rim is going to end up costing you more......... they are heavier (less gas milage) and not as duable (replacement)

Actually, you can get a very decent set of rims for about $500-800. The $1200 sets are usually 19s or chrome. Look into a cmpany's history before buying their rims and check weight and sizes (I am very happy with my 18 lb Motegi rims I bought for $400). From a utilitarian standpoint, I don't see the point in spending more than $1000 on rims unless they are made of magnesium or come with tires. That's my opinion.

i know that you can buy 17" tenzo r's w/ tires for about 900 bucks. not sure exactly where, but any magazine that has an import on the front will have fifteen ads for them. hope you find what's right for you, but like it has already been said, you get what you pay for.

i dunno... i bought a wheel and tire package from wheelguyz.com for $600 total (mounted, balanced, rims, tires, shipping, lug nutz, etc) and other than the problems with the company everything else seems fine.

how would i tell if any of my rims are bent? i really don't think any are though

You can sometimes find a decent buy on groupbuycenter.com. Just run a quick search for Wheels/Tires on the left side of the page. They usually have buys on Rota wheels for around $600 for the rims and buys on really good rims from $1000-$2500 for the wheels and tires.

Amazing, I bought my rims for $380 and the tires seperately for $360 and have had no trouble autocrossing and racing the crap out of them. Even knicked a curb once at about 30 mph and no damage (tire cushioned the whole blow).
