You need to be more specific. What is your budget and exactly what you want to do with the car. You can get a set of cheap coilovers that will do ok or you can go take a loan out for the best coilovers. What you are planning on spending is a good start.

I have Megan Coilovers. They're excellent entry level coilovers that offer height adjustability, 32 levels of damper adjustment and they're a couple hundred dollars cheaper than Tein SS'. Those extra hundred could go towards a Progress anti-sway bar and front & rear strut bars.

I highly recommend you only consider a monotube or inverted monotube coilover. Twin Tube coilovers like the Tein basics or SS kits are not recommend for track. Megan coilover's I wouldnt recommend. I will have to ask some of my local lancer previous generation guys to see what they are running. One of our guys recently replaced a Megan that just came apart after a year and a half. I will have him post up and elaborate.

I will do more research in the mean time.

I've autocrossed and road raced my Lancer, No complaints on my end. I picked mine up at Speedcorps.com. it's like $890-ish or something like that, with free shipping.
