18x8.5 or 18x9

I plan to get 235/40/18 Continental DWS tires but I have a dilemma between 2 wheels with different width and offset.

18x8.5 +44 or 18x9 +42? My Lancer is only for daily driving so I don't know if 18x9 would cause a stretch (even if minor), therefore maybe being a safety concern. Should I be okay or should I just go with 18x8.5? Thanks

Neither of them. Too wide and big offset. Get 18x8 +35 offset.

^^ How do you not rub? Your car def looks lowered and your setup is 20mm more aggressive than mine and I rubbed on stock height. I was running 18x8.5 +38 on 235/40/18. Every lancer i've seen running an 8.5 inch or wider wheel rubbed in the rear :/

The Rears have a Simple FULL roll. There are many others with my setup ever since I've done it have NO issues what so ever.

I can Tuck wheel going up driveways without rubbing. Like I said, I track my car and daily it...... no rubbin in the rear =)

BTW if your in CA, AWD Fitted = Best Fender Guy...

I've proven this setup of on numerous events and forums. No need to lie. I am on Coilovers if anyone was wondering

You failed to mention that... I believe OP asked if he'd be able to run them etc I'm on coils myself and I've rolled the rears to fit mine. My frpnts and rears are both tucked. But I've answered his question numerous times on our other forums, just realized lolol

LOL my bad... Yeah I have my coilovers set to basically Identical to when I was on RRM Springs. The RRM springs give the car a beautiful stance. I just wanted the most out of the Ralliart with Wheels and Suspension. As you can see I'm about being HellaFUNCTIONAL. I race the car so I wanted it to perform rather be a parking lot ****/eye candy..... No Pun intended or to hurt anyone's feelings.

=)

Haha you've been tremendous help, quickflips. I just like getting diverse opinions I'm very tempted to get 18x9 +30 wrapped by 235/40/18 tires. I want a slightly aggressive setup but not to the point that it's overly exaggerated. Do you think this will do the job?

18X9 +30 looks pretty sick. Im personaly going with a 18X8.75 +35 which is a bit smaller set up but not sure if lowering the car with springs (Eibach sportline) would rub.
