Stock shocks handle drop?

Can GTS stock shocks handle lowering springs? Just wondering because on my cavalier you have to buy new shocks due to the stockers blowing out with any drop. Nice Tokico D-Specs on there tho...

It seems a lot of people just throw lowering springs on their cars on here, but I dont wanna half *** the suspension and F up a brand new GTS.

It will reduce the life - but not blow them out excessively early.

MY best estimate is that i will have to replace at 90K (after installing Eibachs at 45K).

go any lower than pro-kit (1.2 1.0 inch drop) and you will probably only get 40k miles out of your shocks/struts before you get a terrible ride. stick with a low 1.2" drop like the pro-kits and you will get 50-70k before you start getting a bumpy ride.

unless you have terrible roads AND are slammed on teins they will not blow your suspension quickly.

if you are truly worried about shock life, WORKS boasts that their springs do not reduce shock life, but arent that big of a drop either.

How much of a drop are you going for? The more drop, the more constant pressure on the shocks. Just think that they are being compressed constantly however much you drop the car so this raises the internal pressure which puts more stress on the seals. They are also more prone to blowouts when/if you hit some heavy bumps. Just keep that in mind.
If your roads are decent, you drive carefully, you should still get pretty good life out of your shocks even on lowering springs.
