Rim Painting

Hi Guys,

Started prepping to painting my rims on my 09 GTS. Taking off a really bad spray paint job by the person who had the car before me. Anyway I started sanding. Should I sand down to the reflective or just the gray? Not sure how far to go.

Any help would be great.

Old Color is matte black.
Going to clean it up and and make it reflective and clean.

Also do I have to do the inside of the rim as well?

Also how can I secure the inner hub cap with the mits logo on it. It seems to be a bit loose now that I have sanded.

Thanks in advance.

I sanded my old GTS rims as clean as I could before priming them.

Are you spray painting them or are you using rattle can car paint?

If the inside of the rim is clean I wouldn't bother with it.

I am using Rustoleum black paint and clear coat. Working on Center caps right now. I am updating my "Build" thread as I go along.

So far put primer on the caps and painted one silver/gray. Pictures here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/al...ars-build.html
