Proxes 4 - LOVE THEM. They hug the road, and traction is much better than my Goodyears were.

PS - while on the topic, tswift is the best, nicest vendor I've ever worked with.

i hear the proxes are a very good all-season tire. they are not recommended too much for track use because it heats up pretty rapidly, which is a good thing on the road, but for track use there's better tires out there. but the dry and wet traction is supposed to be a little better than the older proxes..not sure by how much but i guess it's noticible. Im not sure how it is in snow tho.

I have the new one - Proxes 4. Don't have the tech specs, as Toyo didn't feel like putting them on the site. Here's the details from Toyo.com, though...

- Hard bead filler compound
- Two full-width steel belts
- High grip tread compound

All-season traction
- Unidirectional all-season tread design
- "Multi-Wave Sipes" in shoulder blocks

I thought Rob was on Toyos when he went to Buttonwillow Raceway recently. He didn't seem to have a problem with them on a track, taking 3rd overall when he was the only person NOT using R compound tires!!!

205/50/15 were $75 each. Kinda depends on what you'd call expensive, I suppose. I think the price is good.

My buddy just switched from goodyears to the Toyos on his new Trans Am. It was fatal to his rear end. It went from a tire burning machine to a tarmac remover. Shortly there after the added stress fragged the rear. Good tires

Im ridin on the Ts1's right now hug the road like a dream though NOT a winter tire at all and more than $85 per tire. But I love em none the less. Makes the stock brakes and suspension feel 100 times more controlled than the stock tires.
