The other day I hit a big frickin rock in the road (my wife called it a curb ). When I went to get the tire replaced I had them weigh the rim on my bathroom scale. Ok, not the most accurate measuring device in the world. It read 12# and the guys in the shop said that it was probably reading on the heavy side. They work with performance and lightweight rims all day and said that this was one of the lighter 15s they'd lugged around and wouldn't be surprised if on a calibrated scale it weighed closer to 10#.
Yes, Enkei (in Japan) did make our rims that are badged OZ (from Italy) the conjecture being that this was cheaper than importing thousands of rims to Japan and then exporting them to the US. Enkei markets several (a whole lot of?) lightweight rims and putting all of this together I'm now not surprised at the weight of the stockers.

I'm comfortable calling the rims 15# and I'm pretty pleased with a #/in weight ratio.

Sorry about the circumstances, but I'm glad we finally got some real numbers on it the stock wheel weights. Too bad I won't be using mine anymore.

Great! Almost a confirmation. As stated before my stock goody's weight 20# on my bathroom scale. More evidence towards the 15# weight thanks!

I did, and my scale said it weighed, 12# but that seems too low. So if anyone asks me, I'm tellin' 'em "15# baby!"

Do you think the guy wth the 42# rim/tire combo was smuggling dope?

dang, nice to know those things are light. Maybe I should stick with those for racing. If only they were a tad wider... then again, that would make them a tad heavier too.
