yeah, that's it- what's the weight? Do we know the approx weight of the stock tires? Should I even be worrying about the unsprung mass of the tires and rims? (um, yes.)
before you flame- I've looked. I'd be happy to have a search engine tutorial to make me a better thread searcher.

hehe, yeah, but we still don't have an answer. And yeah, this thread is redundant, but the sad part is I really don't blame engineer boy because none of them have a sure answer!!! Next time someone gets tires, bring a scale and make the shop let you weigh it before they put the new tires on. Just weight yourself, then pick up the rim and weigh you and the rim together, then find the difference. Might be off by a pound, but it's better than the guesses we keep getting

Stock wheel is definitely lighter than my 17's, you can even feel the difference driving, stockers feel like they spin up faster except they have no grip, 17's feel much heavier when you stomp on it but they hold onto the road.

ACTUAL stock wheel weight is around 42 lbs WITH tires. Just shipped mine to michigan couple weeks ago, and paid for 43 lbs and change. i figure a big carboard box and packing weighed about a pound.
they ain't light.

Ok for some reason I kept the stock Goodyears when I bought my FZ4's. The goodyear tire alone weighs 20# (I just weighed them). The rims, then, weigh either 15# or 22#. A pond per inch seems a little on the light side considering they're OEM and #/in rims run several hundred dollars each. 22# each is more likely, but still seems heavy, because as Skippy pointed out the tire/rim combo didn't feel that heavy when I was moving it around (maybe I'm just super buff )
I've called on a TLNW member to put one on a scale for me so I have an accrate, current number to work with. Maybe we can finally put this to rest?

I asked the guys at the dealer the same question when I was deciding to get the car. The wheels are made by Enkei and are rebadged by OZ. Since they are 15 inch wheels it's pretty safe to say they weigh in the range of 15-17 pounds per rim. My Civic SI wheels weighed in at 16.5 pounds, and felt heavier then the OZ wheels, with the exact same tires. So I think they are closer to 15 pounds each.
