these can fit can they?

would 17"9 rims fit on a 04 lancer?? i would think no but cant heart to ask

I seriously doubt it. 7.5"s are pushing it. If you really had to have them, though, there's always a Sawzall.

I don't think there's any way to stuff anything wider than a 7.5" wheel into the wheel wells. Even an 8" would be pushing it.

Seems way to wide. Looks like 7.5" is about it

Exactly. You would most likely be rubbing the rim on the inner wheel well, and that's just the rim. You'd then have to fit rubber over them! Widest tire I've seen on a Lancer is a 225 and that was mounted on an 18x7.5 rim. Save the 17x9 for the Camaros and Evos. Just curious, though, did you actually find a 17x9 with the 4 bolt pattern?!

i have a 03 and i have 17" x 7.5 with at least a 2 inch drop WITH NOOOOO PROBLEMS AT ALL!

yes, but don't go any wider than that. The 9" won't fit our car at all.
